Buttonhole for 1x1 Ribbing

Presently, I am working the 1x1 ribbing band on my sweater. I have been searching and reading info on buttonholes. The tulip buttonhole seems to be the best, but I have not found any info where it is worked in 1x1 ribbing.

Can anyone direct me to a professional looking method that will actually look great and work well without stretching out of shape? I have tried all the standard methods that most patterns call for but I don’t like the look or quality of any of those. I was wondering if there might be a method I have not heard of. Any suggestions?

The tulip buttonhole will work over the ribbing. You’re binding off by slipping one stitch over the other, regardless of knit or purl. The same goes for casting on. Eunny Jang shows it done on seed stitch which is the closest to ribbing that is shown.
What types have you tried? How about the one-rowbuttonhole?
