I’ve been knitting for a few years but have only made scarfs so far. I decided to make the bunny blanket for a friends new baby but have already encountered some problems. As I’m attempting the yo for rows 7-39 I’ve found that as I continue in it leaves holes big enough to stick your finger through. I don’t think that the finished product is supposed to have holes. Has anyone else made this pattern? Any suggestions?
Hi. Welcome to Knitting Help. Can you post a link to the pattern? Is it one of these? http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/search#sort=best&craft=knitting&query=Bunny Blanket
Here’s the link:
Yes, the YOs make holes along the edges, as well as the increases. You may be using a different yarn where they show more, and if you don’t like them, on the next row, knit them tbl to close them up. Then on rows 50-61, skip them and just do one k2tog instead of two.
It’s not making holes along the edges but in the middle. Hmmm, maybe I’m not reading the pattern right?
Rows 7-39: knit 3 stitches then yo, then knit to the end of the row. At the end of row 39 I should have 40 stitches across.
Is that correct?
The yo comes right after the first 3 stitches, then you just knit across the row. Are you repeating k3, yo all across? That’s not how you do those rows, only at the beginning of them.
Nope, just doing knit 3 yo then knitting across. I just investigated the pattern further and looked at pictures of other people’s finished products. They all have the holes from yo. Yay! I’m doing it right! Thanks so much for your help!:yay:
Yeah, the picture at the Lion site uses a fuzzy chenille yarn which doesn’t show the holes as much as other yarns will.
