Bryspun Needles....like Denises?

I was wondering…Do any of you have both the Bryspun needles and Denises?? I love my Denises…(WISH they made them in dpns).
I  the smoothness of the Denises and the pointy ends. :inlove: I came across the Bryspun DPNs and was wondering if they felt like/similar to the Denises. :?? They look similar to the Denises. Nice points…look smooth. Hmm?

For those of use that have both…or have used both…Do they knit smooth like the Denises??

I love having different needles for whatever mood I’m in. I get bored easily… so I like to have the option to use different needles. I’ve been using my Boye dpns like crazy…I LOVE THEM!! I also like to use my Clover dpns.( Not lately though…)…So…if the Bryspun DPNs feel similar to how the Denises feel…then …well, LOL…chalk up another needle option. Heehee!!

Thanks for your input all!!

Bryspuns are smoother than Denise’s. The Denise’s can have rough seams from the molding process. For dpns, I think you should try the Bryspuns, I’m sure you’ll like them.

UT oh! YIPE!! LOL You know what that means…heehee! Now I have to decide on the length. I’m used to using the 7" (boye/clovers). I wonder if the Bryspun 5" dpns will be too short…or if I should go with the 7 1/2" dpns. LOL…I remember when I first started using the 7" dpns I thought “I wish they were a bit shorter”…hmm…maybe the 5"?? I’d mostly use 'em for hats and socks. 7 1/2" dpns might be too long for me… Ok gotta think this over…

Thanks for your input!

I just bought a pair of Bryspun DPNS because the wood needles I usually buy were out of stock – and I liked the Bryspun better :D. The ends are very pointy, and the needles are light and very smooth. I wonder if they sell a set of DPNS? They were the least expensive DPNS available in my LYS. (I also use Denises, and find the Bryspun very similar).

Oh wow!!! I love how smooth my knitting flows when I use my Denises…and wanted something similar in DPNs. Soooo…Cool…sounds like the Bryspun are the way to go! Thx for your input!! :happydance:

What length dpns did you get?? 5"?? or 7 1/2"?? …? I’m kinda leaning towards the 5".

Btw, Anyone use the Balene II dpns?? (I came across them while researching and was wondering how they were…) I’ve read some posts on other boards saying they’ve had a few bad experiences. More bad than good…Hmm?? They look to be similar to the Bryspun…Which ones are better? Pros/Cons?? If any…Thx!

I would think that with the 7.5" length, you could use them for a wider range of things… Lots of things that are circular (kitty beds, some dishcloths, etc) start small with DPNs and then you transfer to a circ once its big enough.

I like the 7.5". I obsess about the stitches sliding off the other end otherwise.

Thats what happened to me last night - my socks were on 5 inchers, and I thought I had bunched them up enough so that nothing would slip off…but all it took were a few good nudges from the dog, and two out of 4 needles had dropped stitches.

I’m voting 7.5" – more uses and less worry about stitches falling off  . Have you found any sets of Bryspun DPNS? I did a quick search but didn’t come up with anything.

Holly,

I found some on ebay…just did a search “Bryspun needles”.
Also found some at elann.com.

Good Luck!

My LYS has them, and has a big sale tomorrow - I am going to pick up a few sets for fun!
