or whatever you call a person from Omaha…
So what good yarn shops are there? A friend of mine from high school lives there and I may be roadtripping out to see her this summer. Anything else I shouldn’t miss?

Welllllllllllll Personal Threads claims to have one of the largest selections of yarn in the midwest. It does have a lot of yarn (though i did my best to clean them out during their clearance sale over the last two weeks! ) but the store is very small and crowded. Much nicer people than the reviews online would have you believe.
My personal favorite though is String of Purls. The store is bright and cheerful…the help is friendly. yarns are laid out by color which i like though i can see that not everybody would. It is also expanding into the store next door too which i am very excited to see. Every Thursday they have a sit n knit so come on thursday and i will come knit with you! (well preferably the 4th thursday when i am pretending that i have a meeting to go to!)
ANd there is Touche in midtown which is quaint and tiny. Glenda, the owner, was the one who taught me the knit stitch. she brings her dog with her and he just hangs out on a pillow! not a ton of selection and what i have bought there was waaaaaaaaaay more expensive than i would like (the $20 skein for my first scarf! ) Nice little store though with neighbors that come and hang out and chat.
I did not know that there was another yarn shope in town
Yea when you come in town you have to let us know so that we can have a knit it! :happydance:
yup it is at about 60th and Maple in Benson. In my head it seems about the same size as Personal Threads, just not as much yarn and lots more room to move around.
