Breaking the rules

Does anybody use sock yarn for something other than socks? That self-striping stuff is so neat.

My neighbor made a baby sweater with it. It’s absolutely adorable. She put wooden buttons on it. The only problem is that the sleeve patterns would match the body. So she took and cut pieces of the self-patterning stuff to make the sleeves so the pattern would match the body! What work.

I’ve also have made a couple beanies with it. A scarf and hat would be a great gift made out of it.

I think other stuff made in sock yarn would be very cool. I just don’t have the patience though to knit anything but socks (or something else VERY small) with #2 needles!
