Boye needlemaster/knitmates

I have been searching for a certain size circular needle (size and cord length actually) and can’t find it anywhere except for online (we don’t have a LYS for about 25 miles from here) and I need it to finish a project that’s “due” Saturday. So last night I HAD to buy the Boye needlemaster set (oh darn). :happydance:

anyhow–I saw some things called knitmates and I was wondering if any of you know if they are interchangeable with the needlemaster set (i.e., the cords or add’l needles)? Just curious–i noticed that you can purchase add’l cords in various lengths that are title needle master.

Yup they sure are! I just got my Needlemaster set this weekend (for 35.00 from Hobby Lobby! :happydance: ) and also bought a separate 12 inch and 16 inch cord that are the KnitMates.

good b/c I bought the 16 inch cord too–I got mine at HL too (but not for that cheap!!! You must have had a coupon!) I haven’t even had the chance to play with the set but everything looked like it would fit together! Thanks!

I just went to the website and saw the 40% off coupon–I wonder if I could return it and then purchase it with the coupon? The only had one so I’d have to wait for them to re-stock it…

[color=blueviolet]They have more. It seems HL only likes to put out one at time. It’s a good way of getting people to buy them right at that moment because they fear that they won’t have any more when they go to buy it the next day or the day after.[/color]

I dunno…I recently complained to one of the clerks at HL that I would shop there exclusively b/c they have the best yarn selection in town but their needle selection stinks…she stated that she’d let the ass’t manager who does ordering know what I said and she also stated that they had not ordered since before Christmas!!! (this was about a week ago).

oh forget it…I’ll just save some money on something else…now let’s see…what one big item do I want???

it is true…i have never seen more than one at the HL stores here…i don’t need them but it is very annoying to me…

AND they are always kinda tucked away like the red headed stepchildren of the knitting needles.

My HLs have more Crochet needles and a crazy amount of straights…neither of which i use or need. so i don’t buy from them. hmph!

I got it when they had their 50% off all knitting accessories, but they were out, so they gave me a raincheck for it which was good for 90 days, ordered more, and they held it back for me at the fabric counter. It seems they have that sale every few weeks or so, just watch their ad.

I was suspicious though that maybe they even took them off the shelf before the sale!

Yea, before I got the set, I went to Hobby Lobby to get my fixin’s for the boye stuff.

I just don’t get it–they carry tons of the LOVELY (snicker) susan bates needles (sorry if anyone likes SB–I don’t!)–almost no bamboo and hit or miss circs. Drives me nutty!
