Boucle stitch/needle recommendations?

I’ve got a giant lump of JoAnns boucle yearn I’d like to try and turn into a throw of some sort. I’m working my way through a giant list of stitch patterns, but does anyone have a suggestion of something that would work well and look nice on this kind of yarn? And what size needles or how many strands? (The tag recommends a 10)

Thanks!

Edit–Yeah Ingrid, after a few patterns I’ve come to think the same thing. But I just swatched a garter stitch and whaddaya know–the yarn texture actually makes it look kinda interesting! Guess this’ll be a no-thinking knit, weee!

I’ve been working on a scrunchable scarf with an alpaca boucle. The yarn recommendation was for 10 1/2, but I used 9 for a denser knit. The pattern barely showed up in the boucle, though. I had to frog it because at the width I was making it, I would have ended up with a 28" scarf. But the bottom line is that from this experience, that the boucle doesn’t really allow stitch patterns to show very well.

OOoh, I was just wondering the same thing about boucle. Do you have their Confetti or the Rainbow that comes in the HUGE skein?

Maybe I’ll give garter a shot when I reknit. If I don’t like it, I’ll call it a border!

I have the gigandor Rainbow skein. It’s knitting up like it’s going to make a cozy warm fabric, but wow…it’s driving me insane to knit with. I can’t see what the heck is going on with stitches and whatnot.

I’ve got one of those Rainbow skeins in the Barbie/Pepto Bismol pink and white  Eventually it will be a poncho for DD…eventually…
