Bothersome Blanket stitch

I just joined earlier, and wanted to ask something that’s niggling me. I have a pattern from a magazine that’s designed to be a first project. I made the piece okay, but it gives details of embellishing with a blanket stitch heart without telling how you do the stitch. The only references I can find show the stitch as edging, which obviously doesn’t work for me in the middle of a square

Here’s a videohttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B7zyzRDd_r4 that shows you blanket st in the middle of a piece. It’s done with embroidery thread but can also be done with yarn. Good luck with your project!

Ty hon. I’ll give it a try in a mo. Fingers crossed, but not the stitching ones

Not any clearer to me. Might just be because I’m not terribly well, though

I’m sorry you’re not feeling well. Of course, it makes everything much harder than it should be. I was wondering if maybe duplicate stitch might be used just as well in your project. Sometime give this videoa try.

Ty hon, that looks a good option if I fail at blanket. I have a faulty pituitary gland, which unfortunately makes days when I feel well remarkable. I think I’ll put the square aside for now, then try the blanket stitch and otherwise the duplicate on a good day. It’s just a garter square from my first issue of the art of knitting. The annoying thing is that I know it can be done as someone posted a pic of theirs finished perfectly on the site for it.
