Hi all,
I previously posted on here about a scarf I knitted in stocking stitch which had rolled up, I was advised to start again using a garter stitch border which I’ve done but I’m having the exact same problem!
It is only slightly more flat than before, but the middle of the scarf just curls and pulls the border along with it. My yarn is 51% wool and 49% acrylic, do you think blocking would help and how would I do this?
Thanks
I don’t know about blocking and the blend of fibers but that’s a cool scarf even if you can’t get it totally flat. You might find this TECHknitter post interesting or helpful, maybe not helpful now so much but in the future. The blog has a wealth of info. I keep going back and looking for things I don’t know I need to know or to reread because now I understand what she’s talking about.
Cables pull in the knitting around it and the edges will curl because they still have an area of stockinette. You have to embrace stockinette’s idiosyncrasies. Even blocking doesn’t always work especially with acrylic.
It looks pretty even with it curling a bit.
