Hello all. I’m in need of help. I’m trying to knit booties free style for a newborn. I know the size is generally 3.50 in length, but how do I know how high to knit the bootie? At One point it looks too big like too high, and it’s is driving me crazy. I have the width but I don’t know where I should stop in height. I’ve looked at quite a few patterns and it’s still hard to gauge since I’m creating my own. Appreciate any input.
I don’t know that there is a perfect length, but I’d say about 3". That said you can get around this by having a cuff that can be adjusted for the baby.
Thank you. I’m at 2 inches high now so guess I’m on the right track - I’ll make it a footie.
