What’s the difference?
Booga/Oregon Tote
I voted booga - have never done the oregon tote!
I believe that the Oregon has an ICord bind off around the top of the bag. I’m sure that there are more differences, but I’m not sure what they are. It is a lovely bag…I hope to knit one in the future. Oh yeah, I think it’s bigger than booga
I’m in the process of the Oregon Tote. I also purchased the “my constant companion” pattern at the same time, and my SIL is trying that bag. The bag is finished with an icord bind off that I haven’t gotten to yet, and I have heard that it is larger. I’ll soon find out! I have to say that I received excellent service when purchasing the patterns, and the designer has several interesting bag patterns on the web site: www.knitkit.com
I voted Booga Bag. I actually haven’t tried the Oregon Tote, but I tend to like small bags, plus the Booga pattern is FREE!
I have made both of them and like them both. The booga does knit up faster. It is an easier pattern. The knit cord bind off and strap holes in the Oregon slow you down when you get to the top. I have added knit cord bind off to my boogas to give them a stiffer top.
