Alright I’m heading to the beach this weekend and I found the perfect vacation project: http://kellymaher.wordpress.com/2007/07/04/ribbed-lace-bolero/
Now I’m totally confused by this part:
row 2: p1 (p1, p1 into first yo, p1 into the back of the second yo, p1) repeat lace pattern until 1 stitch left, p1
What does it mean to p1 into the first yo? Help please!!! Thanks!
I JUST finished the same bolero. I¨m not sure I¨ll be able to explain it clearly enough, but I¨ll try ( and anyone jump in and correct me if I´m wrong ) ( which would mean my whole bolero is done wrong
)
Row 1 you´ve done the k1, k2 tog, YO, YO, ssk, right? well, when you turn it around to do row 2, you p1, p1, then purl the first loop ( of the yarn over ) and then purl into the back of the loop ( instead of the front of the loop ) of the second YO. Does that make sense? Best bet is to do a row to see how it looks - then it might click.
Good luck!
Karen
That’s exactly what you do.
By purling into the front of the first YO loop and then the back of the second, the yarn in the YOs will twist so that the 2 new stitches are separate. If you were to purl into the front of both loops, you’d never be able to get 2 separate stitches – there wouldn’t be anything to keep the stitches in place and they would merge together to form one large loop!
Good job, Karen! :happydance:
Oooh ok! I got it now (at least i think i do!) It’s funny how somebody else can explain it and it make sense! Thanks a lot!
Thanks for the “pat on the back” Spokaloo!!!
And good luck Babyduck87 ( pix when you´re done please…)
