I am knitting this sweater for the knit along! http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEwinter05/PATTbobblicious.html

but I am wondering… the firrst row says RS K3, MB, K3 until end of row… then reverse st. st.

so the sweater does look like it is re St. St. but why would I knit the first row of the pattern. wouldn’t that row stand out?

You’re not being dense. For some reason the bobble rows are k on the right side. It’s hard to tell that from the picture. You could try it on a swatch and see if you like the look.
