Bobbles - 2 questions Need Help

  1. Each time I make a bobble I notice that there are 2 holes on each end of the ball, is there anyway I can make a closed bobble without any gaps?

  2. Does making a bobble bigger done by the many knits and yarn overs or by how many rows I knit turn, purl turn? Which looks better
