Bobble issue

I am just starting out on this really nifty looking baby afghan and it has bobbles in it. They scared me at first, but I got it figured out. My problem is that for some reason more of the bobble seems to be sticking out the back. I followed the directions, I swear! Can anyone give me a hint on what might be going on here?

My bobble pattern is k,p, k all in the same st., turn, k3, turn k3, then slip the 2 over the first one.

Any suggestions are appreciated!

Can you just use your finger to push it through to the front?

Yeah, I think so. I was wondering if it would change the farther I got away from the actual bobble. I’m only a purl row after it right now. Maybe when I go further in the pattern, they’ll start behaving better.

I think I must be knitting the same afahan. I am to the bobble row, and I can’t figure out how to do it. The (k,P, K) all in next st, is confusing me. What does that mean?

You’re doing all three stitches in the one stitch. Knit one stitch, but don’t slide it off, bring the yarn between the needles and purl into the same stitch, again don’t slide it off, put the yarn back between the needles and knit into it again and then side it off. You’ll have 3 stitches where you had one.

I’ve had patterns that said to push the bobble through, that’s why I thought it might be the solution.

Holy-Smokedy do. Ok, I did that, and it looks like it will be a bobble after all. Thanks so much for your help. I was going to go down to a local knit shop and have them show me how to do this, but would not be able to get there till the weekend. So you have greatly helped me.

Glad it worked!!

Check out this great photo bobble tutorial:

Great link, awos! Thanks! I’m doing better. I liked the little bit at the end where it said to push the bobble through with your finger and then make sure you pull tight. I’ll try that too.

I’m so glad it helped. I had to use a refresher myself when I started the bobble shrug. The bobbles I’m making are a bit different from the ones in the tutorial (much larger and not subtle at all) but the process is basically the same.
