BO in ribbing

I am working a pattern that says to BO in ribbing. My ribbing is 1x1. So, do I just keep purling the purls and knitting the knits or would I need to do them opposite since I’ll be lifting the first stitch over the second? I hope I’m making sense and someone can understand what I’m trying to say!

I think it looks better to BO in the pattern stitch. Look at it this way - you’re really just workng another row, the only difference is that you pass the sts over each other to take them off the needle instead of leaving them on the needle.

Thanks so much for the quick response! This forum is just wonderful, especially for all of us “newer” knitters.:muah:

I just bound off in rib and it’s slower, but it does look nice.
