I am making a little bowl and have 40 stiches on circ. needles. After purling the last round, it says to Bind Off in 2 st. I cord. I know how to make and I cord but I am not sure what they mean with the BO. for the explanation of Bind off in Icord:
Using a separate pair of DP needles, cast on listed number of I-cord sts. Work 1 row of I-cord. On each subsequent row, work the last I-cord st together with the next st of the top of the main vessel. In that way, you will be binding off the top of the vessel - 1 st for each row of I-cord. I still don’t understand. Any help would be appreciated.
BO in 2 st. I-cord
It looks like you start an I-cord w/ 2 stitches. Do the first row of the I-cord. Then on the next row work the 1st stitch, then work the 2nd stitch at the same time as the 1st stitch to be bound off from the bowl (insert your needle into the bowl stitch and the 2nd I-cord stitch at the same time and knit as one). Then do the next row of the I-cord…1st stitch, then 2nd stitch along with the next bowl stitch. Do this all the way around. Make sense?
I made a hat for my hubby for Christmas using this pattern. I figured out the three stitch I-cord bind-off by following a video I found on another site.
My problem came when I was finishing the bind off. I had three stitches left on my needle and had no idea what to do with them and how to join them with the beginning of the bind off. I sewed them together the best I could, but I know there’s got to be a better/easier way.
Any help?
