Blue and Black Afghan for my son

My oldest son is 20 years old, and a student at UNCC. I asked him what he would like for me to knit for him, and he suggested an afghan. (An afghan - that’s HUGE! ) He wanted it to be blue and black.

After months and months of knitting, here is the finished product. I made up the afghan as I was going along, using 2 strands of worsted weight yarn throughout. The blue blocks were Harris Tweed stitch, the black blocks were garter stitch, and the white blocks were moss stitch.

I’m so glad to finally finish it. The only problem is that now my step-son wants one in red and black.

That’s AWESOME!

That turned out well! I think the colors are terrific! You did a great job. I hope he’s happy with it!

He does love the afghan. Here’s a photo to prove that he’s using it already! (I added a crochet border of thick chenille yarn all around, just for interest.)

great!

Isn’t it great to have your work in demand? I can see why, it turned out wonderfully!
