Blocking

A simple question…What is blocking? The pattern says to “block the scarf by stretching it widthwise until the entire thing is the same width”.

Blocking is wetting an item, shaping it, and letting it dry to it’s final size. Not all things need blocking, and acrylic won’t block. If you have a natural fiber scarf and it’s maybe a bit pulled in or uneven, or not wide enough, you can wet it and lay it out flat to dry. If you’re really particular about the size, you can pin it to size.
