If I block a synthetic material, will it be worth it? Will it actually hold how I have blocked it?
The scarf I am making is a mix of nylon, rayon and acrylic.
In my opinion, it’s not really worth trying. It might block alright but it will likely go back to its original state.
I wouldn’t really bother, either. You could wash/dry it according to the label directions, and that would help to relax it and fluff it up, maybe.
Hmm, I guess I’ll have to try that then.
The scarf I am making is a dragonscale looking pattern, causing it to have scalloped edges, but at the same time, because it resembles stockinette very much, it is curling. I don’t want it to curl, but I don’t want to distort the scallop either. I will try washing it.
