Blocking question

Hi everybody,

    I have a question. I want to knit some lace shawls/ponchos, and it says in the pattern to make sure to block well. What does blocking mean and how do i do it? I would appreciate any help I can get. Thanks!

Lace is one thing that really needs to be blocked. Here is a good article on blocking.

Basically, you wet your item and pin it out to size and let it dry.
