i know that blocking your finished project is usually recommended.
but, does the recommendation apply to a yarn made of 70% acrylic 30% mohair?
i made a lacy sampler scarf, should i block it? and if yes, which method is recommended?

I think i would block the scarf, even though it’s part acrylic and mohair. I wouldn’t wash it, just pin it to a blocking surface (bed or blocking board or whatever you use) and spray it with water and let it dry.
I’ve found that often this type of yarn will hold the shape it is laid out in when wet. I generally place the item on a table on a towel, pat it into shape, and allow to dry.
