Blocking, and ribbing

This question is in regards to the Central Park Hoodie. I’m going to block the pieces very soon, but had a question about what the ‘general rule’ is about blocking and ribbing.

The ribbing naturally pulls in a lot of course, plus it is worked on a needle size 2 smaller than the body of the garment. So when I pin it out to block, should I try to make the ribbing section just as wide as the rest? Or should I pin just the body and let the ribbing do what it does?

When I’ve blocked sweaters, I’ve never pinned them. They seem to hold their shape pretty well–maybe because of the weight and the fact that the knitting relaxes. I’m not really sure. I do know that they fit, and I leave the ribbing to it’s own devices.
