Blocking an Afghan-washable yarn

I am ready to block this afghan but do not know how. I was panning to launder and place on large plastic cover surface bu thought maybe i could just dampen and block in this manner

It all depends on what yarn fiber you used. Acrylic or mostly acrylic blend it won’t make much difference, but washing and tumble drying (if the label says it is okay) will help a bit with “evening out” things stitch-wise.

If it’s wool or a mostly wool blend, you can lightly dampen, like with a mist spray bottle and lay out flat on towels, but for an afghan that might take up all of the kitchen tabl! But if it’s superwash wool, you can usually machine wash and dry those as well, just all depends on what the label says.
