Blocking 40% Wool, 40% Alpaca, 20% Silk hat

I just finished a hat in HiKoo Simplinatural, which is 40% wool, 40% alpaca, and 20% silk. This is the first thing I’ve done that is not just plain wool. I’ve been blocking hats by giving them a good soak, and drying them over a balloon, but I’m not sure that’s what I should do here.

Would dunking it be ok? Or should I spray it? (Never done that way before) If I spray it, should I do it over the balloon, so it’s head-shaped, or just flat because the alpaca and silk are weaker than the wool?

Thanks in advance!

Beautiful yarn. It must have been wonderful to knit with.

You could either soak it, gently squeeze out the water and form in on a balloon (terrific idea!) or spray it with water when it’s on the balloon.
