blish berroco poncho

did anyone knit the blish poncho? would like to see comments please

I haven’t and I haven’t seen it posted here, but I can check. I see on Ravelry though that there are a lot of comments, forum posts and projects.

thanks for the reply. I checked out Ravelry and read the comments. I wasn’t too clear on one of the instructions but I will figure it out

I am knitting the Blish and have a question regarding understanding the pattern for the front.
What does it mean when the pattern says to “work 3 rows even in pattern as established, end on WS and repeat 5 more times?

  • Dec Row (RS): K3, k2 tog, k to first marker, work Cable Pat to next marker, k to last 5 sts, SSK, k3 –185(193-201-209-217-225) sts. Work 3 rows even I in pat as established, end on WS. Rep from 5(5-6-6-7-7) times more, end on WS – 175(183-189-197-203-211) sts. Work even if necessary until armholes measure same as back.

Welcome!

There should be a second asterisk in the directions:
asterisk Dec Row (RS): K3, k2 tog, k to first marker, work Cable Pat to next marker, k to last 5 sts, SSK, k3 –185(193-201-209-217-225) sts. Work 3 rows even I in pat as established, end on WS. Rep from asterisk 5(5-6-6-7-7) times more, end on WS – 175(183-189-197-203-211) sts.

Working even in pat means to continue the pattern as you have been working it without any increases or decreases. End on a WS (wrong side) row so that the next sts will go on a RS row.
Repeat from the * at the beginning of the row, that is * Dec Row (RS)…" up to the second asterisk.
So you’ll be continuing the directions for the cable pattern at the same time continuing to work the sts on either side of the cable panel.
