I came home sick. Three weeks, two antibiotics later, and I still sound like am horking up a hairball. Accountants hours haven’t helped this. I had a bit of a lull in the storm - so…I am home, gonna nap and then I am gonna KNIT! HA!
Blech
Ugh. My DH sounds like that, too. Must be something going around. Hope you feel better soon!
i am going home tonight to make sure my mother hasn’t offed herself and my dog. She has been sick since Saturday and is only just starting to sound better. The doctor wanted to put her in the hospital on 24 hour IV fluids and she told him no. “There’s nothing you can do for me here that i can’t do at home!” Now i know i haven’t been home since christmas but i think she would have told me if she had gained the ability to give herself IVs since then!
On the upside, she has lost 10 pounds in less than a week so I am kinda hoping I catch something!
Well, this crud that I have is mostly cough related - I go into coughing fits where I am gonna cough up a kitty no matter what, and for those of you who have had children, um yeah.
I am sure my co-workers are happy I am gone. It sounds awful. Too bad I will be there bright and early tomorrow morning.
I hope you feel better! Take lots of naps and knit…that makes everything a-ok!
Feel better. Knitting certainly sounds like an important part of the recouperation :XX:

Knitting and sleeping when you are sick are the best medicine! I caught something in Dec. when we first moved to Colorado Springs, and all I did was knit an aran sweater for dh and I felt better in no time.
Hope you feel tons better soon!
Hope you feel better soon! I prescribe rest, some tea with honey, and lots of knitting!
My whole house sound like a TB ward - we’ve all got that cough and it just won’t go away! All the pollen flying around only makes it worse.
My Gran’s suggestion does seem to be helping everyone sleep though - a big spoon full of a mixture of lemon, honey and burbon! :happydance: Cough, who cares about that cough!
Hope you feel/sound better soon. The coughing is a PITA!

Cooper and I took a nice two hour nap (wow) and #2 son is home now. I am going to go watch a DVR’d Monk and knit! I want to make that knitten…but no, must work on the sweater!
I’ve been sick since Sunday and have spent most of the week in bed knitting. I even managed to knit my younger daughter a pair of “Yuffie gloves” for a costume party she is going to on Sunday (Yuffie is a character from a video game called Kingdom Hearts and wears a pair of fingerless orange and black gloves - I won major points by knitting her gloves on the fly with no pattern!) Now I have to convince her that she can’t wear them in her gymnastics meet tomorrow.
I truly believe that bed, knitting and my best friend’s “Jewish Mother Chicken Soup” is the key to wellness.
HA! We must have the same grandmother, Ang! I took that regularly as a child, believe it or not, and it worked. That coupled with a warm washcloth on the throat…mmmm!
I hope you’re all feeling better soon!
Ugh! I feel for you, I had the same thing. I also had two antibiotics and about 7 or 8 weeks later, the cough is finally going away!! Just in time for allergy season to start, everything is starting to bloom here thanks to this beautiful weather! :cheering:
My son had this thing from end of December until, oh about this week. His was exacerbated by swimming, I think.
I just HOPE that nobody at work catches it…I would feel so bad! Although the week I was really sick, I was out at a client, stuck in a boardroom all by myself.
Knitting merrily away. Unfortunately will have to work tomorrow :crying: but thats the life of a CPA.
Oh I forgot to add what everyone here swears by…and I must admit I tried it, and it worked!!!
Equal parts of vinegar and honey. I used a medicine cup (from NyQuil or something - we had tons laying around from all the meds we tried). The key for me to getting it down was holding my nose while drinking it. It’s not the best tasting thing in the world…but it worked!
feel better everyone!!!
I’ll spare you MY TMI details…but I get to go to a GI doc next week, cuz I think I did some serious damage to my esophogus due to all the coughing…two rounds of antibots, and I’m still coughing, and now have icky reflux that just isn’t going away.
Oh no…you might have esophagitis. I had that once b/c of sinus drainage. My esophagus was so raw that I couldn’t eat anything without experiencing excruciating pain. In two weeks, I lost something like 10 lbs. I hear that acid reflux can cause it, too. It’s good that you’re going to the doctor!
Sorry for your illness! I hope you are well soon.
The honey and lemon is always good. You might also try some licorice - its an expectorant and tastes good too! (look for panda brand at the grocer)

as MUCH as I’d love the side effect…lol…that sounds absolutly horrid!!! I don’t have really any symptoms, other than an “odd” sensation in my throat, and if I cough too hard…bad things happen!!!
I do have an incredible high tolerance to pain…so sometimes a mild discomfort to me, I’ve been told has been awful for others…(4 days unmedicated labor on purpose with 3rd child!!!)
I’m waiting for the doc to call back…she was out of the office on Friday. My mother of course went the YOU’LL NEED FEEDING TUBES if you don’t get it fixed route…ok…so it probably won’t come to THAT, but it needs attention!!!
