I recently inherited an insane amount of handspun chunky yarns in a bunch of different colors. There’s not enough of any one color to make a full sweater and I’m overrun with hats and scarves, so I thought it would make a great wacky blanket. Does anybody have suggestions/favorite patterns that would work well with lots of colors?
Here’s one idea. I’m not sure how wacky it is but it knits at 12sts/inch and would look good in all sorts of color combinations. The size here is for a baby blanket but you could add sts to make the size you’d like.
How nice to inherit lots of lovely yarn!
Love your idea, salmonmac, but…what is it? lol I think you meant to include a link?
Thank you GG. I get so enthusiastic about these things that the reality escapes me.
Here’s the missing link so to speak: http://www.purlbee.com/2011/09/15/whits-knits-chevron-baby-blanket/
:teehee: I clicked the only link I saw and of course it took me to Amy’s videos. I was barely awake and it took me a minute to realize something didn’t look right. Thanks for the missing link, that’s a cool pattern for using up odds and ends I think. I have a lot of odds and ends that need to become something. Maybe I’ll do that. Mine would look quite different since I would change colors as I run out of the old one no matter where in the row I am.
Reality - what a concept. ![]()
I do like this one and it would look very cool. Most of what I have is in shades of blue/grey so this would really highlight the differences!
