Blackberry Ridge Wool Mill Yarn

has anyone purchased yarn from blackberry ridge?? This is the place that has the lucy bag pattern, and their yarns are beautiful–totally in love with the colors of the kaleidoscope yarn (230 yds per skein for 15.00?). And has anyone seen this shawl :inlove:??? I wish I had the patience for something like that…

Anyway, curious about the yarn, quality, itchiness factor, shipping etc…

I  the Blackberry Ridge merino!!! So, so yummy. Minimally processed, so not a lot of chemicals. Very, very soft and yet it doesn’t pill much at all. It almost has the feel of a cotton/silk blend when you’re working with it, to the point that you forget it’s wool. Seriously delicious stuff.

I have some things I’ve made using BBR … have to see if I can find some pics of them and post 'em for you. My personal favorite colorway is the English Garden! (Love the Firecracker and Sierra Madre, too. Actually, I don’t think there’s one I don’t like.) I don’t know how the colors are showing up on your monitor, but on mine they’re a bit lighter and more washed out than they are IRL. Just FYI. (Like the Watermelon is actually a much deeper, darker blend of greens.)

One note of caution, though. The BBR is nearly impossible to felt. Even just to do a felted join. I have no idea why, as it’s 100% wool, and it’s not superwash (as I mentioned, minimally processed), but it is. I made my first felted project with BBR and was so ticked off when I washed it TEN plus times and nada.
