Binding off

I am making a felted bag and wondering if there is a more sturdy way to bind off. The first one I did is very flimsy on the top edge.

Here is a suggestion, try binding off with a smaller needle, or use a smaller crochet needle and do a single crochet bind off, when I bind off using those methods, it always seem to work out for me… Hopefully it will work for you, try binding off the first few stitches and see if it is sturdy enough before you completely bind it off.

have you actually felted the bag yet? if not, you should remember that it is all going to shrink down quite a bit in the felt process. which bag are you making? another way to deal with it after it is done “cookin’” ( :wink: ) is to line the bag with a semi firm fabric.

You could also consider an attached i-cord bind off.
