Binding off & attaching a rolled rim

Hi All,
Hope someone has a suggestion here.
I was “surfing” a few days ago & should have marked where I found some information on this topic, but didn’t <sigh>…and now I can’t find it again.
I’m making a kitty basket on circular needles to be felted/fulled.
I decided, due to some comments I’d read about the edge not standing up, to purl the last few rows so that it would make a rolled rim.
Can anyone suggest a way to bind off and attach at the same time? There are about 4 or 5 rows that curl in nicely, but if I could bind off & attach in one operation, I wouldn’t have to do any extra sewing.
Thanks for any help or suggestions!

You could use another needle to pick up loops around the edge and then do a three needle bind off with the live stitches and the loops on the other needle,

or you could pick up a stitch through the side on another needle–a circ–and then bind them off together with the three needle bind off.

These are based on other things I’ve seen, so I’m not sure they’re what you had in mind.

Thanks!

I’m using a second circular needle & the three needle bind off, after having picked up loops on the last round of garter stitches (real easy!). I’m halfway around and it looks GREAT!

Thanks again for the suggestion. Can’t wait to see what it looks like when fulled. I’ve had to take it to others’ houses to work on it because the intended recipient (he’s made it quite clear that it’s his already…) insists on sitting in it on my lap as I try to finish it, grabbing at the moving yarn, which is, according to him, all for his amusement…
