I’ve been working on this Cast-On / Bind-Off Necklace Pattern and discovered two things.
One, I have a tendency to bind off too tightly.
Two, I have no clue what I’m doing wrong with the last loop of the Bind-Off. I must admit I’m seriously looking at that Single Crochet Bind-off as an option.
Some background… I’m doing this continental. I k2 then pass the first K on the right needle over the 2nd K on the right needle (and off) leaving one stitch on the right needle and continue until all stitches are off the left needle and I have one remaining on the right needle.
As I understand it, I’m then supposed to pass the yarn through the loop on the right needle and take it off the needle which should (in theory create a tight BO), which I can then weave the tail in.
Only problem is… I pull the yarn through and it doesn’t tighten down. Doesnt seem to matter what I do, it will not tighten…
Did I miss a step in here somewhere? I checked Amy’s video and it showed getting it started but I didnt see her end the BO. And for that matter, are there any differences in the steps with the single crochet… it looks basically the same as a continental BO. The SC BO seems easy enough… except I still have the problem at the end with the final loop.
