Bind off question

my patter says " be sure to bind off in rib stitch." what is that?

bind off by
K1, then K1 again. (2 knits)
Pass the first K1 over the second
Purl 1, Pass second k1 over the purl
Purl 1, Pass Purl over the Purl.
K1, Pass second purl over the knit1
continue in like manner… (knitting or purl the stitch onto right needle)

Binding off is only the process of taking your stitches off the needle instead of leaving them on them. So the BO row is just like a regular row, k1, p1, except you pass the 1st st over the 2nd one.

AHH!!! It all makes sense now. lol Thanks a bunch!
