Hello - I am very new to knitting and have just finished my first scarf. Unfortunately I messed up the bind off! I successfully completed all of the stitches until the last one - and now I’ve somehow managed to pull out the very last two stitches of the bind off - and I can’t figure out how to recover! The tail of my yarn is now at the third to the last stitch - I have a needle holding in place. Then there are two large loops where the last two stitches pulled loose that I have no idea what to do with… Is there any hope of recovery?
I found a video on unraveling the bind off - was able to undo the remaining bind off stitches, get all of the stitches back on the needle and try again. This time I was careful to pull the last thread thru. Yay - project saved, AND I learned something new!
Congratulations on your first knitting project. If you can get the stitches from the last row back onto the needle you can just rework those BO stitches. At the worst you’d need to go back and reknit the last row or two then you could do the BO again. If the end stitch has worked loose you might need to do that.
If you’d like to post a photo of your scarf, that would be great.
Wonderful. If you can post a picture, I’d love to see your FO (finished object).
Congratulations on completing your project and figuring out how to resolve your BO problem! :yay:
Knitting is the ultimate Continuing Ed hobby, and that’s part of the fun of it!
