Bind off 1 st at the beg of each row 5 times?

My pattern states to bind off 1 st at the beginning of each row 5 times. I get that. BTW this is a sleeve Im knitting. My question is am I actually gonna be knitting ten rows so each side gets 1 stitch bound off 5 times? Or do I just knit the 5 rows binding off one stitch each time? I guess I figure it will be unequal number of sts bound off on each side if I just do the 5 rows? I hope this isnt to confusing. TIA

According to what it says, you only BO 1 at the beginning of the next 5 rows. If that was done in stockinette and began on a knit row it would be BO 1 on the knit side, 1 on the purl side, 1 on the knit side, 1 on the purl side, BO 1 on the knit side. That’s five rows, and what it says. I have to admit it seems odd, since it would not be even. Are you absolutely sure you aren’t misssing something in there?

You could also just Dec 1 st at the beginning of the next 5 rows. Some translated patterns don’t make the difference between BO and dec.
