Hi all !!! I am “attempting” (note the word “attempting” lol) to knit my step-mom’s mannequin “Roxanne” a bikini to lounge around in these cold months. I’m not really using a pattern but I’ve come to a slump with the back of the bikini bottom (where the booty would go.)
I need help!!! HEHE…
This is what I did:
I cast on 60 stitches (all mannequins are twigs)
stst for about an inch and a half (Roxanne likes them short)
and then started k2tog on each side to make the decreases for the legs to fit better (plus my undies look like they do that)
Ok. So I got down to 10 stitches for the crotch pannel (that was a wierd thing to type) and knitted it for about 2 inches.
So, where do I go from there? The back end should be fuller (more stitches I assume) sooner than just increasing 2 stitches at a time (like the decrease in the front). Should I increase every stitch for a while?
Does anyone have a suggestion? I looked in my Stitch N’ Bitch book and it suggests (for the QUEEN OF HEARTS) to:
Inc row A: Inc 1 st at beg and end of every row
Inc row B: Inc 1 st at beg only at every row
Now this really confused me. Do you go back and forth doing these increases? Like the knit row is ROW A and the purl row is ROW B? Plus, if this was done wouldn’t it look lop-sided ???
If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it!!!
Thanks for the help with my BOOTY problem !!!
