yep…that is the only way you can get them…not in the kit.
Awesome. I was just looking to get a pair of 17s and 19s. 
Denise’s were the first really big purchase I made when starting knitting 2 yrs ago. I just preordered the new tips… I love the fact I fly through the security check points at the airports… and with knitting afgans… they are awesome… I can add cables as I need them… w/ out changing tips. Now… they just need to get some smaller ones… :tap: , then I wouldn’t have to buy any others…not that I’m the type that likes things to be alike are anything…
*back to finally finishing the afghan I started 4 weeks ago… will be finished by tonight! just 4 seams to go!!!
I think that i figured this out! (yeah i felt brilliant!) the cords are almost exactly as thick as the smallest needles. if they went smaller they would have to use thinner cords, or the cords would be bigger than the needle. (seriously i would never consider using any other needle ever if the cords were as thin as the addis!!)
I wish they had smaller ones too, but here it the answer to that question from their website:
"Will smaller needle sizes ever be available?
We wish the answer to this question were yes, since we’d like some ourselves, but unfortunately we have to say “NO.” The unique locking system that helps make Denise needles so enjoyable to use requires a diameter no smaller than the size 5 needles to maintain its strength. Sorry!"
I’ll be honest… To be able to fill such a large portion of knitting needle sizes with just one kit (and the 2 additional tips, now), I really don’t care if they make a smaller size.
Yes, I LOVE the changeable factor and the airport factor and everything about them. But, if I have to go out and get the smaller ones seperately, I’m not gonna complain. 
yup i am perfectly happy with my Addis in the smaller sizes. [color=gray][size=1](pretends she didn’t make a secret confession to Dustina a few minutes ago)[/size][/color] :oops: love love love my denises and if the bigger needles are nicely tapered and not toooo much of a jump between the point and the shaft i will have to bring those to live at my house too! 
Where are you buying these larger needles for our Denise sets?? :shrug:

I’m getting them in at the store next week. I doubt anyone else has them yet since I just got the email from Denise today about ordering them.
:pout: I know… I’ve read why they can’t make smaller ones… but… hey why can’t a girl wish? huh? *sniff…Like I wish I could knit faster, better, & all my swatches turn out perfect the first time… Oh did I mention I still believe in Santa Clause?

As I told Kemp in an email today, I have absolutely no reason to get these tips because 1. I don’t use my Denises very often, I am usually using addis or Options and b., I never use such large needles. but, of course, I’m gonna have to get them :roflhard: Afterall, my Denise set was the 1st knitty surprise that Lonnie ever gave me, so I must expand it, right?!
