Big chunky chenille yarn

i want to knit a scarf using size 15 needles,with a very chunky chenile yarn…how many stitches should i cast on? I only have 2 large skeins of the yarn and i dont want it to be too short or too skinny…thanks

Is there a guage on the label? A lot of times yarn will tell you X number of stitches per inch with size X needles.

If not, then knit a quick guage swatch and see how many stitches to the inch and then decide how many stiches you need to use to made the scarf the perfect width.
