I am knitting a bib and need to know how to switch to straight needles from circular needles

What is the name of the pattern are you doing?

If you need to switch from knitting in the round to knitting back and forth, you can turn your work as you normally would at the end of a row. No need to go to straight needles. As Jan mentioned, a pattern lilnk is always helpful.
