it’s a free pattern from knitpicks, and it mentions that you need US size 1 circular needles. What my question is, is this pattern knit in the round? cos the instructions sound more like straight to me (knit rows, perl rows, and the end result looks like SS)
I’m willing to give it a go, but if it’s in the round I’ll wait because I haven’t tried knitting in the round at all, and would rather learn more straight techniques first.
The only reason you need a circular needle for this is so you can cast on using both points–to make a loose cast on. After casting on, you pull one out and use the tips working back and forth. You can use a larger needle or two straights to do the same cast on.
