Best way to change colors for this pattern?

I have never used multiple colors while knitting before. :shock:

I think I’d like to make this pattern, it will be a washcloth for my mom.

I am not sure what the best way to use two colors for this is. :?? I’ve seen the video for intarsia knitting… but I wouldn’t need to hold both colors at the same time, right?

Can I just knit in one color, then drop it and pick up the other one when I switch colors? Or will it be more complicated than that?

Also, when I first start knitting with color B for the first time, how the heck do I get it onto the needles??

No special techniques are needed to change colors here. You’re right, knit with one color for the two rows, then pick up the other color.

As for starting it, you can check out Amy’s videos on joining yarn, or just start knitting with the new color and weaving in the end later. You only have to do it once, so it shouldn’t be a big deal.
