My friend and I are relatively new knitters … have only used dpns to reduce hats … now we want to tackle mittens. We’ll do it in a group class where we can get help if necessary. Any good pattern recommendations? I like mittens that have a the thumbs in the correct places.

Sorry, but I know that some kids mitten patterns just have the thumb kind of in the middle so that there’s no right or left mitten.
You probably knew what I was saying, but figured I’d clarify in case anyone else is reading this uncaffeinated, as I was when I wrote it.
