Best cast on for hat?

Hello, all!

Making a hat on straight needles in Sublime extra fine merino DK.
The pattern goes like this:

Row 1: P2, *ybk, s1p, p2, rep from * to end
Row 2: *K2, p1, rep from * to last 2 st, k2.

I want this to be lovely hat, because I adore this yarn…so I am looking for the [COLOR=“Purple”]perfect[/COLOR] cast on. My favourite is tubular, I just love the rolled edge…but will it be ok with this pattern? Or is tubular cast on to be reserved for a 1x1 or 2x2 ribbed pattern?

You’re basically doing a 2x1 rib and I think it could still work. Why don’t you try it out - use leftover yarn if you don’t want to use the Sublime.
