Berroco "Bunny" pattern - help with head instructions

I’m knitting this up for a friend’s baby. Pattern is at this address: http://www.berroco.com/exclusives/bunny/bunny.html

The section confusing me is this:

HEAD

With dpn’s, using MC, cast on 20 sts. Divide sts onto 3 needles and join, being careful not to twist sts. Mark for beg of rnd and carry marker up. Knit 2 rnds.

** Inc Rnd 1: K1, place marker, M1k, * k4, M1k, place marker, k1, place marker, M1k, rep from * twice more, k4, M1k – 28 sts.

Inc Row 2: K to 4th marker, M1k, sl marker, k1, sl marker, M1k, k to end – 30 sts. Rep Inc Rnd 2 once more – 32 sts. Rep from ** twice more – 56 sts. Knit 4 rnds.

I’m up to the 32 sts bit. I’m confused about ‘repeat from **’ - I don’t get how the k4 bits will work out now that I have more stitches on the needle. Do I ignore the k4 bits and just do the increases according to the markers I have? Thankyou for anyhelp

I went and looked at the pattern and tried out the part you are talking about to see what was going on. I agree with you that there seems to be a problem. That 1st rnd that it tells you to repeat is the “place marker” row. If you try to work it as it is written it really messes things up. I believe you with need to change each K4 to a K6 on the first repeat you do and on the second repeat they will go up to K8.

I don’t know how to report a pattern error, but that needs to be corrected.

Email berroco and ask them to clarify.

Thank you! I’ve tried it the way you said and it works. I think there are a few more confusing parts to come in this pattern so will (try to!) finish it and then email them with the bits needing corrections
