Oh hai, knitting homies…I thought I got “Sugar and Cream” Bernat for my birthday (which I so far, don’t like knitting with…) but it’s actually Bernat Handicrafter Cotton! One huge skein of it, and four small skeins. Knitting it right now, making a dishcloth, nice yarn! :cheering: :knitting:
Bernat Handicrafter Cotton
It’s pretty similar to SnCream and Peaches and Cream is too. SnC softens up a lot fter it’s washed, but it can be a little rough just out of the skein.
I prefer other cottons, but those two are okay for some things.
What’cha making?
Doing K2together for the first time!
 Good!
K2together aint as easy as it looks lol.
If you knit tight that may make it harder to get your needle into both sts. I’ve never had a problem with them.
Not knitting uber tight this time…it’s kinda fiddly, I guess…
Even though I don’t knit tight, on some of them I use the R needle tip to loosen up the 2 sts before I knit them tog. Just put the tip in them and wiggle it a little.
Thanks for the tip. Joann’s has the Bernat Handicrafter on sale right now. I am presently working on, among other things, a market bag in the Sugar and Cream green twists. It will be nice if I ever get it done. Lots of yos in it.
Practice makes perfect! I think K2tog are a little harder with the cotton yarns than others–it doesn’t “give” as much.
Yeah, saw yarn on sale on Joann’s site… drool
I agree that the Handicrafter Cotton is nicer than the Sugar 'n Cream. Seems to have more of a “sheen” to it, and is easier to work with. I crocheted a bathroom set with it recently. It would have been more difficult with the other yarn.
Now, I’m making a larger rug with the same yarn, using 2 strands together throughout.
Pretty!
