Beginning Knitters - Project Planning and Demystifying the Yarn Label

Hey everyone, I wrote this blog to help people who are new to knitting. Im a self taught knitter and made a lot of trial and error mistakes early on. I perhaps could’ve saved A LOT of time and money with a few of these helpful hints about project planning and understanding how to read the information on a yarn label. Feel free to share it, hopefully it can be useful to a knitting newcomer you know.

Thanks!

Clicking your link gives me a warning, I’m not sure what it means and I opted not to continue to the blog. Sorry.

Sorry for the mix up, there was a mistake in the link I posted. i’ve since edited it and all should be remedied. Thanks for bringing the issue to my attention!

I suggest a change in some of your wording. Rather than say that you “created” the chart regarding yarn weights and gauges, I’d suggest that you give credit to the Craft Yarn Council, from which you’ve excerpted part of their copyrighted master chart.

I like the bit about not spending the children’s inheritance on cashmere! Just wait until you run across qiviut or yak yarn/fiber…
