Beginners question on pattern

Hi. Im a beginner at knitting this is ky first attempt making a jumper. The pattern is Sirdar Indie 9458. I find the language of the pattern quite confusing. The first point is when shaping the shoulder it says
‘Next Row. Purl.
Cast off rem 7 sts’

Does this mean i purl 1 row then cast off or do i cast off in purl? In general, when the pattern says purl or knit and on a separate line says cast off that means make a row then cast off?

Then ’ working on rem 22 sts, slip 4 sts onto a stitch holder’ do i slip the sts this on the neck edge side or shoulder side?

Last question for the sleeves it says ’ working in st-st (throughout) inc 1st at each end of 5th and every foll 8th row to 32 sts.’

Does this mean i increase 1 stitch at beginning and end of 5th row, then 13th row, 21st row, 29th row etc? Until i get to 32 sts.

Hi, it seems that you have a very good idea of what you should be doing as you are correct in that you purl a row then cast off on the knit side knitways. Also, you are correct about the sleeve increases
For the slip 4 sts, make sure you have the right side facing you and slip the first 4 sts to a holder( neck side)
Well done, you’ve got this!!
Hope this helps, enjoy your knitting
Linda
