Beginner crocheter and I need help understanding an instruction for a pattern

I’m teaching myself to crochet and I started a pattern for a baby blanket. I can understand most of the instructions but I’m lost on this one.

Ch 1. 1 sc in each of first 2 dc. Bobble in ch-1 sp 2 rows below. *1 sc in next dc. Ch 1. Miss next dc. 1 sc in each of next 7 dc. Ch 1. Miss next dc. 1 sc in next dc. Bobble in ch-1 sp 2 rows below. Rep from * to last 2 dc. 1 sc in next dc. 1 sc in top of turning ch. Turn.

I don’t know what it means when it says ‘Bobble in ch-1 sp 2 rows below.’ I know it refers to a bobble stitch but I don’t understand the ch-1 sp 2 rows below. If anyone could help me, I’d be very grateful so I can continue with the blanket.

When you do your ch1, it leaves a little space. I suppose you have done some dc, ch1, dc of the sort two rows ago, so you have little “bridges” of chain 1. You go under those to knit the bobbles onto.

what she ------^ said…

‘Bobble in ch-1 sp 2 rows below.’

Literally spoken: Stitch a bobble in the chain 1 space created 2 rows ago

She??? SHE???

:roflhard:

To Badboy’s credit, until I became Facebook friends with you, I thought you were a ‘she’ too! Must have something to do with your little tag line that says you’re not a ‘miss’, you’re a lady! And your profile pic doesn’t really give much of a clue either since we can only see your eyeballs!

:stuck_out_tongue:

MGM

uhhh, errr…oops?? :roflhard:

would you believe me if I said it was a typo?

no? didn’t think so… :stuck_out_tongue:

honestly though, it was you signature line that threw me and now I know…

Agree.

:oo:

Tag line slight of ‘text’ magic aside, how about your member name. If it is meant to be Internet short hand for something, then most I can understand is perhaps Blue Eyed ‘gh2.’ What is the meaning or pronunciation of the gee ach two ?

I think you may know of the thread I started to tease Suzeeq about looking more like Squeez to the dyslexic in me.

 I think I’ll go with gh2 being Gus. Blu Ey Gus? Is that you?

  1. Blue Eyed Guy (not to be confused with Guy Fawkes) …

  2. blue eyed Gauchos ? (Isn’t that kind of like an Argentinian cowboy?)

No, it’s from Blue. Diminutive of Blue -> Bluey
G is from Gordon.
And since BlueyG was taken years ago, when I tried to use that username, I have appended h2, meaning ^2

And I have stuck to this name.

As to the pronunciation, in my head I pronounce it Bluey gee ach two, as you said

Shame on you Evan! :stuck_out_tongue:

Hehehe, it’s only cuz he’s my friend and I knew he’d understand

I was laughing when I saw the reaction

Okay then…y’all play nice!
