Bee stitch - knit in stich below?

Hi all!

I have an incredibly silly question. I’ve been trying to figure out what to do with this pattern: http://www.knittingknonsense.com/beestitchcloth.html

I get the whole knitting in the stich below but what I don’t get is what to do with the stich you knit below. Do you drop it and knit into the next loop on the needle? I’m sure I’m over thinking this but it seems that if I don’t drop it I’ll be doubling the stiches and that isn’t right either. When I do drop the stitch I get little loopies in the back of the piece.

It’s confusing I know but any insight would be stupendous right now. I’m having one of those “DUH” days.

Thanks a ton!

Kim

When you knit into the stitch below, you’re really knitting into the stitch below and the stitch you normally would knit into, so your yarn gets pulled through both stitches.

Thanks Ingrid!

You are the best!
