Hi! I’ve only just registered but I’ve been creeping around the forums for a while now. I’m a pretty new knitter, I only started in December, and I’m working on what I guess would be my second real sweater project at the moment, Dahlia from Knitty winter 2007 http://knitty.com/ISSUEwinter07/PATTdahlia.html. Its been going really well, but I’ve just got to the detail work on the sleeves and I’m completely lost. I’ve been looking everywhere online for help on this and have only found more people with questions.
I’m supposed to bind off using beaded bind off, which is described in the pattern as “Beaded Bind Off (Worked over a multiple of 4 sts):
[CO 2 sts, BO 6 sts] until all sts have been bound off”.
Maybe I’m just missing something very simple, but I can’t for the life of me figure out what exactly I’m supposed to do, any guidance would be more than appreciated.
I actually think I may have just figured it out, or something that looks like it anyway. I was using the wrong cast-off and bind-off methods before I think.
Sorry if this is too late, but i think that it means you cast on 2 stitches onto the left needle, then bind off 6 stitches as normal (which will be the 2 cast on stitches and 4 regular stitches) and repeat this alon the row. by adding the 2 stitches and imediatly binding them off, you create the little puckers or beads which is why it is called a beaded bind off.
